This page details the Characteristics of the FV 13115 Truck, Recovery, Wheeled, Light, 3T, 4x4, Bedford RL. The vehicle is: "A standard 3 Tonne 4x4 GS (Bedford) chassis adapted for use as a recovery vehicle. The equipment is designed for the recovery of all wheeled vehicles up to and including 3 tonne GS class. The jib has a maximum safe working load of 3 tonne at 2438mm radius, the hoist winch drive being taken from a PTO on the main gearbox and has a maximum first layer pull of 7 tonne. Provision is made for both front and rear winching. With the assistance of a special sprag type earth anchor and two part tackle the winch can exert a maximum rear pull of 13 tonne or a side pull of 6 tonne. The suspended tow hook capacity is 3 tonne." British Military Vehicles 1971 Cupola A Cupola is fitted to the cab roof allowing a soldier to be posted as an air sentry. No provision is made for weapons to be fitted to this position.
