This page details the Characteristics of FV3561 Trailer, Dummy Axle, Recovery, 10 - 30 Tonnes and is designed to facilitate the evacuation of casualties up to 30 tonnes, freeing dedicated Recovery assets for specialist tasks.

A small diesel engine drives the hydraulic winch used to organise the casualty into position. Its capacity is 10400kg. A small hand winch helps the operator place the towing A frame for connection to the casualty. 

"The vehicle has a single unsprung axle fitted with twin wheels and tyres. The casualty is lifted by a jib pivoted on the axle, with a winch 4 fall reeving, and a lifting beam. The casualty is further located by an A Frame which incorporates a pivoting towing eye with automatic catch to facilitate coupling to the casualty. An integral hydraulic system is fitted, powered by a four stroke diesel engine, which operates the winch, moves the jib between lifting and travelling positions, and raises and lowers the dolly wheels. A hand winch is fitted for positioning the A Frame and towing beam."
